Law firms Herbert Smith Freehills and Kramer Levin have confirmed that their partnerships have voted overwhelmingly to combine the firms, thereby creating a fully-integrated global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) Kramer.

Completion of the combination is expected to take place on June 1.

The combined transatlantic and transpacific law firm will have about 2 700 lawyers including 630 partners across 26 offices, and will have more than $2-billion in revenue that is underpinned by a single profit pool from day one.

HSF Kramer will deliver support to clients on their complex transactions and high-stakes disputes.

“HSF Kramer's combined offering, global reach and scale means we will be able to deliver more effectively for our clients, whose needs are evolving rapidly in a complex environment,” says Herbert Smith Freehills Global CEO Justin D'Agostino.

“Joining forces with HSF is a unique opportunity that enables us to achieve our shared vision and potential for strategic growth in the US. This is a significant achievement for our combined firm,” say Kramer Levin co-managing partners Paul Schoeman and Howard Spilko.
